So what's your favorite DVC rumor? I've heard about new resorts at AKL, the Contemporary, Eagle Pines, and a DVC resort in California.

By far, the one I'd like to see happen is a DVC resort in California. Why else would they have all those kiosks there? A resort in Cali would definitely make us buy more points. I've heard about a possible add-on to the Grand Californian and an entire new resort built at the infamous strawberry field.

But apparently a lot of WDW CMs are saying that the Contemporary will be next. The rumor says that the North Garden Wing will be demolished and a DVC tower will be built there.

I'm hoping for a California resort myself. I think deb would have a hard time saying no to more points if that rumor came true.

But a tower at the Contemporary would be very cool!

The funny thing about the Contemporary rumor is no one can agree on how tall it will be. It's supposed to be 4-5 stories, 16 stories, or 8 stories tall.

They'll compromise and average the numbers. Wink

My vote is for a Disneyland DVC, being from the west coast myself. I know it's all but confirmed that the Contemporaary would be next, but would it be totally impossible for Disney to try to sell both the Contemporary and a Disneyland DVC at the same time? It seems to me they would be mostly selling to different markets. I guess I just don't want to wait until they sell out Saratoga, then the Contemporary before moving on to California.

I think with the kiosks and push in CA, they are testing the waters to see who would like DVC in that area.

We'd LOVE to have DVC resorts on the "left coast" and add that to the current abundent options.

I spoke with a couple of DVC CMs in California on our just completed trip. They all said that a Disneyland DVC is in the works, but it won't be for several years. They wouldn't exactly "tell" me where the next DVC property would be built, but gave me some hints.

Can you say "aloha"?

One person also indicated that every deluxe resort at WDW would eventually have a DVC associated with it, but I'll believe that when I see it. However from what was said, the DVC at the Contemporary seems to be a very strong possibility.

DISCLAIMER:
These statements are merely based on what I was told. Had this been an actual announcement, you would have officially heard it from Disney.

Ohh...I'd love to see something in Hawaii! Of course, if they did a cruise ship in Hawaii, that would be good too. But then, that wouldn't be a DVC thing, would it?

Just out of curiosity, can anyone stay in a DVC hotel, even if they are not a member?

Yes, but there aren't as many rooms for non-member guests. But they are available. They would be listed under Home-Away-From-Home.

Lord knows there's room there and not much capacity! Laughing

Another option is to "rent points" from a DVC member. The going rate is about $10 a point, and the member makes the reservation for you. Usually both parties sign a contract to ensure everything goes as planned (Since the member makes the reservation, they would also be able to cancel it. This makes the deal binding on both sides).

So if DisneyDave wanted to stay at Beach Club Villas, and if Daveypoo owned points at Beach Club Villas, DP could make a reservation for DD at BCV at 11 months (or at any other DVC resort at 7 months), and DD would pay DP a specified amount.

The Contemporary Villas is my favorite. They would have to expand so much to supply enough rooms for demand that it would never be finished! Just my opinion of course!
