L'Originale Alfredo di Roma to Close August 31, 2007!

Disney's contract with L'Originale Alfredo di Roma Ristorante ends August 31, 2007. Disney is currently working on plans to develop a new Italian restaurant for World Showcase's Italy pavilion. No further details are yet available.

We've enjoyed this restaurant many times - not sure how I feel about it closing.

Interesting...we ate there in February. It was the first time I'd ever eaten Fettucini Alfredo (it will be the last as well-not because of the resturaunt tho).

We enjoyed it very much---the breads and appetisers were wonderful and the desserts and capuccino were divine! Everyone loved their meals (I should have known better--and everyone else loved it!)

Our only complaint was the volume of the restaurant overall...but it was a minor one. The singing at the tables was fun and the atmosphere overall very nice.

Our waiter told us there is a restaurant just like that one in Italy. I sure hope they find a worhty replacement...it ws packed when we were there. I wonder sometimes why things end?

Noooo!!! They had the best fettucini alfredo in the world, along with the best caesar salad. Sigh...

Oh yeah, I just heard about this yesterday. I haven't eaten there before, but I'm sure I will at least once in the next 5 months I'll be there.

How sad. Alfredo's was the first restaurant we tried in EPCOT on the grand opening weekend in '82. This is just another piece of the EPCOT Center jigsaw puzzle that will be missed. It won't be long till there will no longer be enough pieces to recognize the once majestic EPCOT. Miss You

We ate there once a LONG time ago. Probably not as far back as John though. What a shame! Sad

I'll hold judgment. Could be they replace it with something better... Does occasionally happen. (Although Epcot does seem to have a bad track record in that regard.)

We have gone there many time. Last time was in January "07"
We skipped in on our trip in February because we were jus there.

Both me and DW both loved the Fettucini Alfredo when we were there.

No plans to get back there soon. Maybe I'll call and see if they deliver. Smile

Sad there leaving it was a great place to eat in EPCOT. Sad

As an avid fettuccine Alfredo lover I'm ashamed to say I'll never get to eat there. Ugh. Restituire l'EPCOT originale!!

i've never eaten there either! i kinda wanted to, at least once, but given the cost and the grumbly reviews the restaurant often got, i developed a case of approach-avoidance. now i'm kinda miffed, but oh well. lesson learned - if you want something, grab the opportunity while you've got it.

FYI to anyone who wants to enjoy Alfredo's one last time before they close: Since the announcement of the closure, Disney dining has been flooded with requests for Priority Seatings (reservations) at Alfredo's. With the Disney Dining Plan taking up a huge chunk of these seating times, the word from WDW-DINE is make your plans now and make a reservation. It will become increasingly harder and harder to get in to the restaurant.

Has anyone tried the Taste of Italy yet? (Replacement for Alfredo's)
I have reservation for June, but wonder if it is worth it or not.

I have, and I really enjoyed it! I was never able to go to Alfredos regrettably. The food was excellent and the portions very reasonable. I had the Prosccutto and Melon appetizer (yum!), A grilled beef steak with arugula salad (which was marvellous), and sampled at least 4 or 5 desserts. I visited Tutto Italia with my concierge team from Coronado the week before it opened to the public again in September, and we were able to sample many items from the menu. We were all very pleased!
