When is the right time?

I've been noticing for a while now that holiday decorations have been going up earlier and earlier each year. Obviously they want us to start giving them our money that much faster, but it seems odd to have them up before Halloween is over.

(And of course Disney has to do it just to have enough time to get them all up..)

I believe that after Thanksgiving is appropriate for homes and such...in stores I think the week of Thanksgiving is good, in Disney, well, they have a lot to do so, any time after Halloween is OK.

BUT NO CHRISTMAS MUSIC UNTIL THE DAY AFTER THANKSGIVING!

I agree with Thanksgiving week. Some local radio stations have already been playing Christmas music for 2 weeks. Thank goodness for Sirius radio so I have alternatives. The same with UAB. I'll listen to the Christams tracks next week and have been shutting down the broadcast when a Christmas track comes on.

Business decorations are fine Thanksgiving week, but homeowners should wait until after Thanksgiving. I came into work today and the women had decorated the halls and doors. I was not happy.

Lets not rush this. Lets slow down and enjoy the season. But lets not start so early.

I hear you on the Sirius, Figment. I haven't been on UAB much the past week and a half due to travel, but when I logged back on, I heard Christmas music. Personally not a fan, but fair is fair with all the Halloween music we have on here, which I love! I just want to get to Thanksgiving Day without having to hear Christmas music. I put on the parade and they have holiday numbers, but that to me is the official start. Driving home from work tonight I saw someone had a decorated tree in their window. Too soon, my friend. Too soon...

I agree with everyone here about waiting until after Thanksgiving to decorate your home. Elizabeth and I came home from lunch today to see our neighbor decorating his yard. Too early for me!
