|

The Lights of Winter has been confirmed as cancelled this year at EPCOT. The Lights of Winter was a canopy archway of 30,000 lights, running along the walkway from Future World to the World Showcase Plaza. Each night during Epcot's Holidays Around the World holiday season, the archway created a spectacle of synchronised dancing lights, combined with the Fountain of Nations, all orchestrated to holiday music. I know I will miss it. How about you? _________________ John |

That's a shame - I know the Marathon / Half Marathon runners will miss running underneath this arch - its the finally turn before heading to the finish line. |

I always look foward to seeing the arch when running, that means I'm almost
done.
My DW + DD will be disapointed they always liked watching the lights and music
with the fountain in the back. |

Was there any indication of the reason for the cancellation? Trying something new? too expensive? people didn't like it? |

Before I moved to Orlando, it was a sporadic occasion my family made it down to the World during Christmas. That archway is the standout memory of Christmas at Epcot for me. It will be weird not seeing it this year. |

Depending on the date of the marathon, there may or may not be any decorations still up. Last year there wasn't much with the marathon being on the 11th. Only one year do I remember running up Main Street with the decorations across the street and the trees still up. That may have been 2007 when the marathon was on the 7th. _________________ [ |

D'vine Chorus... Isn't that the plant lady from AK? I didn't know she could sing. |

This is terrible, I loved that walkway. Walking through it with my family before enjoying the final fireworks show was one of my best Epcot memories. What are they thinking?! Hope we can vote to bring this back. |
