There actually MIGHT be a way. If you can put the emoticon on a server, you might be able to put the link in your signature as an image.
Which emoticon were you trying to get in your signature?

Matt, I tried for a while today to get your signature to work. What I put there SHOULD work. Others have similar code in their signatures and it works. I'm not giving up.
