According to AintItCoolNews, Disney has released a press reporting, giving some information about the upcoming Toy Story 3... TS and TS2 will be rereleased in theatures, leading up to the premier of TS3...

But that's not even the best news... They will be releasing TS and TS2 in 3-D! Yes, both movies will go through the same 3-D conversion process that NBC went through...

Not sure if I'm excited about TS3, but I'm syked about TS and TS2 in 3-D....

What do you guys think?

The story line for the new movie was released this week. Here it is:

Woody the cowboy and his toy-box friends are dumped in a day-care center after their owner, Andy, leaves for college

That's totally different from what Disney had originally planned. Here's the original premise:

Disney’s plot idea involved a recall of Buzz Lightyear toys, which includes Andy’s doll, which results in the Toys going on an adventure to Taiwan to rescue Buzz, who has been malfunctioning.

Personally, I liked the original plot better.

I was a big fan of both of the first two Toy Story movies so I'll just be looking
foward to seeing Woody, Buzz and the gang again. Very Happy

Looks like this is in pre-production...while perusing IMDB's profile for Joan Cusack...it show's she is returning as Jessie in TS3--pre-production release date listed as 2010.

I agree with deb...I like the original plot line better...keeps the focus on the toys and their relationships. This seems to be throwing a lot out there...and in my mind...I always thought Andy would have a shelf with his toys that his kids coupld play with someday at grandma's house.

I always wished they had done A Bug's Life 2, but it wasn't one of their homeruns.

There is a brief article over here that discusses the story line and feel of Toy Story 3. Basically, it will deal with Andy going off to college and is supposed to bring "closure" to the franchise.

Went and saw the double bill in 3-D this past weekend.... simply fantastic, I highly recommend it!

One of the highlights was the premier of the new TS3 trailer... Check out this blog post from Disney and more for the trailer and the coolest movie one sheets:

Glad you enjoyed it - I really want to go. I can get all nostalgic: Toy Story was the first real date I ever went on. Gosh, that was forever ago! Laughing

Lee Unkrich Talks TOY STORY 3 Voice Casting Additions, And More!!

Merrick here...

TOY STORY 3 director Lee Unkrich has issued a video announcing that the first two films...currently enjoying their "limited run" 3-Dimensionalization in theaters...would stay on screens past their announced two week engagement (which was to end this week). He didn't say how much longer the films would remain on screens.

Lee also discussed additional voice casting in the film, talking about the guy who'll replace the late Jim Varney as Slinky Dog, as well as bringing back John Morris (who played Andy in the first two films) to play an older Andy this time around.

Talk about all of this, as well as an announcement regarding the voice casting of Kristen Schaal (FLIGHT OF THE CONCHORDS), can be viewed HERE
