This made me think of Aerosmth

Aerosmith Livin' on the Edge Lyrics:
There's somethin' wrong
with the world today
I don't know what it is
Something's wrong with our eyes...

There is more to the song, but this kinda sums up my feeling on this subject.

The entire CEO compensation system is broken. I don't care how hard the decisions are, is anyone worth 51 million a year?

Not in my opinion. I'm not sure if this is a case of "get what you can before they fire you" or if these folks think they are worth this.

Almost as bad as sports players...

No one is worth that kind of money. Rolling Eyes

If they were so great that they were deserving of that kind of money they would
run for President and fix the world. Then, MAYBE, they would be worth that kind
of money. Maybe!

What a company chooses to pay their top executives is up to them, but...

When a company is hurting and loosing money, why layoff from the lower ranks, the ones who actually make the company run. Take it from the executives pay. Honestly, if someone makes over $50,000,000 a year, do you honestly think he'd miss a years pay?

Oh, and would you want to bet that they are going to get bonuses too?!?!?!

He passed up his 2 million bonus, cause he thought it was the right thing to do.

Yeah, maybe he passed his up, but what about the others, and why did they even issue bonuses? If a company is loosing money, didn't make their budget, they why are people even being offered bonuses?!?!? THAT should be the first thing to go!

With that much money, you could probably staff all three theme parks for a month. There isn't any way that these CEOs are worth the money. It's totally nuts.

Where I work if profit is not met the bonuses for Managers and Executive
are the first this to go.

The problem is the people getting the bonuses are the people voting on weather
or not to give the bonuses out. Rolling Eyes

Disney is able to pay his bonus from the wages of the 619 Managers/Executives they are trying to dump...
