We all know what happend to the PeopleMover. I'm sure we all miss it so let's make a forum dedicating to this beloved attraction. I've heard rumors of the attraction coming back and I wanted to know if this was true. _________________ Attention travelers, please remain seated. I hope they do bring it back. It would be a costly endeavour though. They would either have to have new vehicles that work on the old Rocket Rods tracks, or remove the tracks and put new ones down.
But I have seen a lot of pics of imagineers and management up on the tracks, so my fingers are crossed.
We all know that Tomorrowland could desparately use more attractions! _________________ Dave.... |

Yes. It's sad to see the track just sitting there, rusting away. _________________ -^cb^- |

OMG - it would be wonderful to have the Peoplemover back!!! I miss that ride more than any other.
It would be cool if it went to DCA, Downtown Disney and the Hotels, but wouldn't that get complicated with tickets (ie, the people who get the "one park" tickets, etc.) And with it's awesome speed, wouldn't that ride be about an hour long??? |

I think it would be cool for it to be about an hour long and take you on a tour of The Disneyland Resort, but hiding from view all non disney property by using special effects in thsoe areas and such, it would be just plain fun.
Basically they will ahve to do a lot of work to the track as there is structural damage from the Rocket Rods not having been properly constructed with banked curves, but it can be done and I would love to see them do so and perhaps as technology has improved over the years there is a less expensive way to do this now. |

you know they could have certain cars go to the hotels and the others do a tour. if some one can imagine it it can happen. make it like the wedway but a bit smoother. _________________ -ToNY

Recently some dedicated Peoplemover fans started a petition and website to see if they can't get Disneyland to bring back the Peoplemover. There have been persistent rumors for some time that it may be coming back so folks are showing support for the gone but not forgotten ride. Anyways - here is the link to the petition

I know what you are saying, I've been to WDW more and know the TTA by heart by now. I only got to ride the DL Peoplemover once, maybe twice, before Rocket Rods moved in and thought it was great. Another nostalgic Peoplemover site has popped up - http://peopleforthepeoplemover.org, a few old photos and a really good 3D rendering of the cars. Hopefully Disneyland will see that folks want it back!

Hi folks. Allow me to show my Disneygeek side and say that the PeopleMover is without a doubt the single most ingeneous ride the imagineers have ever come up with! Actually, I should just say that the PeopleMover is/was a perfect representation of what Tomorrowland was/is all about. The pefect combination of leisurely sightseeing vehicle with a great story concept; touring a city of the future like it was today. Throw in some great attraction previews, (SM, AIIS, CV), and some firsthand experience, (superspeed/TRON tunnel), and you've got a truly singular experience. Let me just sat on behalf of all PM fanatics that this is one ride that deserves a second chance, soon. Well, later, peace. |
