Is the Sorcerer Mickey's Hat still at Hollywood Studios? I believe there was some talk of removing it, but didn't know if anything had been done.

It was there in January. I heard they had a surplus hand and wand they were going to intall on it.

Yeah, it is still there... looks like those rumors were just rumors or fanboy dreaming, the talk died out shortly after the rumor popped up...

One of the imagineers once light-heartedly commently in an ambiguious way that the hat might be moved. But, the way it sounded to me in the audio, he didn't seem to really have any inside information. It sounded like he was speaking more hopefully than knowingly.

Not a fan of the hat. I always thought that the replica of the Grauman's Chinese Theater that it obscures or maybe now the Tower of Terror should have been the marquee symbol of the park.

I actually heard an Imagineer talking to what appeared to be some friends and/or family in Kona Cafe on my last trip refer to it as "that stupid hat". I don't think a lot of them like it much, either.

Some of the other Disney sites have posted that later this year they will be moving it out of the Theater area and into the Animation Courtyard. Wait and see

That would be cool.

I kind of like the direction in which Hollywood Studios seems to be going. It doesn't need to be another Universal Studios, and it seems like they're slowly getting away from the idea of trying to put you in their movies and turning it more into a park that celebrates their movies.

Moving the hat would be cool. It would be even cooler if they could move the Earful tower to being behind the theater, so that they can be the weenie together. Kind of the marriage of movie magic and behind-the-scenes studio work that I think would make the park awesome

The one at DHS is a non-functioning replica of the real functioning water tower at Disney Studios in California...
