Warm and a little windy today, but not the kind of wind that includes a knock-you-on-your-keister gust at 10 minute intervals. If only Southern California winds were like this year-round, I'd feel a lot better.

The section of the NOAA website for my area says 86 degrees. 86? I haven't felt 86 degrees in a long time and don't want to know it this early. But that temperature was stated well over an hour ago, so perhaps it's gone down since then. I'd bank on about 82 right now, after having gotten the mail with one of my dogs.

Here's the thing about where I live in the Santa Clarita Valley: You never can be sure which way the wind is blowing. Northeast is the worst direction since it blows from behind us and is especially worrisome during Santa Ana Winds, hot dry roaring winds that, as Dashiell Hammett put it at the beginning of his short story, "Red Wind": "...curl your hair and make your nerves jump and your skin itch."

Obviously it's nice when the winds aren't like that, but even when the winds are blowing a bit, you can't be entirely sure. Are they coming from behind? In front? You see a tree in front of you with leaves blowing to your left, but yet you feel a wind at your back. Granted, it's been one of the more interesting things that come from living in Southern California for five years, but even if you find out which way the wind comes from on various weather websites, you stand outside and still aren't sure.

Right now, west-southwest is the claimed direction. I'd believe it. But what I liked the most today was how there seemed to be split time between warm air and a little cooler air at various times. It really felt like spring. Thankfully, some more rain this weekend. It'll bring the total for the year up a little bit, but probably not enough to completely rid us of this three-year-long drought.

Today is the first day of spring. Very Happy

Mostly clear skys but cool to start the morning but at least there
was no frost on the cars and ground this morning. Smile

It was 33 degrees when I left the house and only getting up to a hign of
40 - 45 degrees today.
Not what I would call Spring weather but not too bad. Smile

cold and windy this morning. Overcast with a chance of rain, but it is suppose to warm up as well. Wife's flowers are starting to bloom. Hope they get tall enough for me to see em over the lawnmower. She always gets annoyed about that. Embarassed

Very Happy Happy Spring Folks! Very Happy

Starting off the first full day of Spring with lots of frost on my car and on the lawn
and only 27 degrees when I left for work. Rolling Eyes Spring???

Mostly clear and sunny today with the temp getting to mid 40's.

Guess you could call it almost Spring like weather. Wink

Expected at 64 degrees today, but since I'm gonna spend the day in Anaheim (Downtown Disney) and then in Buena Park (Po Folks), it looks to be 65 there. No difference really.

Rained hard this morning, leaving about 0.20 inches of rain. Cold and windy for the rest of the day, 50 degrees right now. Wind's expected to last until about 1 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Temps are nice, but we have had a really bad smoke problem because of a large wildfire 30 mins up I-4 from us... it is KILLING my allergies (as if the drought and increased pollen weren't doing that already!)... Sick

Someone forgot to tell Mother Nature it is Spring.

This morning it was only 24 degrees when I was coming to work and the wind
chill made it feel like 14 degrees. Rolling Eyes

Some Spring. Rolling Eyes
