I'm with tach on the shadow playing the piano in haunted mansion attic.
I also liked the effect on the Indiana Jones ride after the snake, when you bounce down the stairs and get your first look at the lava room, , they used to have lava rocks come down in front of you when you turn to go into the skull area. (you can still hear the sound from it, but no visual effect). I thought that was an awesome effect & couldn't figure out what it was.
Those "lava rocks" were actually pieces of ice that came down from some kind of ice machine in the ceiling. Supposedly, the machine rusted over and they haven't been able to do anything about it. _________________
Fire coming off the castle during the fireworks show, or pehaps the video on it's a small world with the fireworks, esp. fun when the train is driving through the star tours field. Or how the fireworks surround you if you are watching from the Castle.
Hi again. As far as the past goes the Mighty Microscope at ATIS always worked best because it did give the impression people shrinking right before your eyes, (especially when you didn't know where the unload area was, at least I didn't). Also the fireflies in PotC Blue Bayou, (sorely missed), and the sound of Rufus the Bear snoring at the original entrance to Bear Country, (although his new digs on Splash Mountain are a nice touch too). As for the new; Star Tours obviously, ( where would we be without moton simulators). I also like the Blue Fairy appearing ath end of PDJ and practically ALL of IJA; talk about 'immersive' entertainment. Well I'm sure there are others I've missed but I'll let every one else have their say. Later, peace.

That sounds very cool, although I've never seen it. It's been broken as long as I can remember.
I loved the Alien Encounter 'warping' of Skippy from one tube to another. Still not sure how they do that one...

1) the plasma lamp at the end of horizons. think of those sparking globes they sell at novelty shops, with the spark leaving the center and arcing across the gas towards the glass. now imagine the "antenna" in the center has been replaced by a GE logo about 6 inches across and the glass is a sphere, about 42 inches in diameter. i'm told it was in a three way tie for the biggest plasma lamp on earth. (supposedly a twin was in storage in case the one on display ever broke. and the other one was somewhere in japan being used as who knows what.) interestingly, i can't find any photos or specifics on this object anywhere. (my google - fu is weak.)
2) the start of the fireworks, seen from fantasyland. all the guests have been told to watch "the sky, over cinderella castle in the magic kingdom" so that's what they do. moms have kids in strollers, pointed at the castle. some guests have cameras on tripods with shutter release cables, ready to take those bulb exposure fireworks pictures. the music starts, then BAM, BOOM, CRACKLE, "what's that noise behind me? OH, fireworks." so the moms dance the strollers around through a 180 turn, the camera people trip over their tripods to re-frame their shots.
happens EVERY night.
i'd rather watch the fireworks from frontierland, as they look so good reflected in the river, but for pure guest driven comedy, you can't beat fantasyland.
