Nahtazu

Does anyone know why Disney stopped using Nahtazu for Animal Kingdom? I thought it was cute.

I thought they were still using this. Seems like when we were down in January the TV in the resort was still running this.

They still use it but it's not a promotional campaign like it originally was.

it's the animal kingdom slogan..it's a play on Swahili / African language structure.

Nahtazu = "Not a zoo" generally because Animal kingdom is MORE than a zoo is.

I must say that the San Diego Wild Animal park puts Animal Kingdom to shame (although Animal Kingdom does have some cool stuff as well), my point was I don't think that the slogan works really, which is why there has been a downplay on it.

Here's a park map from a couple of years ago. The next time I picked up a park map, Nahtazu wasn't on it anymore (although it was the same picture), and I haven't seen it since.

Again....It's not part of the promotion campaign like it once was...

You'll still here it mentioned on the Resort TV segments.

The last Disney "Come Visti Us" DVD they sent us, one of the folks did mention in passing NatahZu... but it was more of a passing comment, and less the focus of the discussion.

I would suggest that the theory NotAZoo just was not working as a full blown marketing idea, but it works better as a subliminal marketing tool.

The commercial hasn't played in heavy rotation in several years.... but, you might see it everyone once in a while...

I actually saw it on ESPN (where it ran all the time back in the day) early one morning...
