I orginally started to post this in the "westcot?" post and figured it really is it's own topic. So here are my thoughts:
I foresee a water park coming to the Anaheim area. With land issues a water park would fit the best. Plus with Knott's having a water park already in place it helps build the resort feel that it seems Disney is trying to build to keep people in the Anaheim area. Water parks are or I should say were very scarce in the Orange County Area once upon a time.
With that said I would think it might be a neat theme to create a water park that is themed to look like WDW. The could have slides that looked like scaled down versions of the attractions in WDW. An inside slide in a small spaceship earth a small Everest. One with a movie theme for Great Movie ride. A lazy river that has a world showcase theme. Call it "Walt Disney's wet world" or even use "wetcot" _________________ Jason

There's A LOT of water parks in this area now...
Knotts has one...Six Flags has/had Hurricane Harbor, There's Raging Waters (Waterloo for you bill and ted fans) in San Dimas, and Wild Rivers just south of Disneyland in Irvine.
There are also small little amusement parks like Camelot (GHETTO) that have Water Slides and Water-based attractions also. _________________

Ok I remember Camelot, but it had like a water slide, but that's where the drag races used to meet up before the popo's started to patrol it heavily. and I thought the place in Irvine was closed and has been? _________________ Jason

It just reopened...Funny that you started this thread..I just saw the commercial a few days ago....
I just wish the City of Anaheim cared as much about "The City of Anaheim" as Disney has.
Anaheim would be absolute #### without Disney. _________________

Hey guys. Personally, I always wondered why the ideas that always seem good on paper never even get a tryout at ANY of the parks; and yet the ones that do get put up always seem to be the ones destined to fail. Case in point; a 3rd park in Anaheim. From what I've always been able to make out when going to DL is all the great theming that pops up AROUND the original park by other companies. I know this is probably a kid's thing but sometimes you tend to get other companies properties mixed-up with Disney's if you're not paying attention. But I'm digressing here, let me just say that IF the company did open a third park they might want to try and 'incorporate' some of those 'outside' concepts and see which ones stick as opposed to letting alot of 'original' ideas fall flat on the public's faces. Anyway, until my next rant, peace. |
