So I'm beginning to think about our annual pilgrimage to WDW this fall. What hotels would you recommend? We used to camp at Ft. Wilderness in our RV, but I think we'll be selling it soon. I am looking for nicer than All-Star, but not as pricey as Poly. How is Port Orleans French Quarter? Wilderness Lodge? |

A couple of years ago when I was down there doing research for my thesis I stayed at one with a horse theme, the name escapes me at the moment, but it is directly across the lake from downtown disney. I really enjoyed it there because of its location. It was a matter of a 10 minute walk and I was to Dtown Disney and the resort size was pretty small that it had a quaint feel. Ill have to see if I can find it on a map if you are interested. |

Port Orleans is really good. Our favorite. We have stayed at both French Quarter and Riverside. Nicer than All-Stars. _________________ [ |

Saratoga Springs is a DVC resort, so it will be expensive.
Wilderness Lodge is nice because you can take a boat to MK, which is really good.
POFQ is our favorite moderate.
I guess it all depends on price and size. _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.

Grand Floridian is my fave. But, I also love Yacht & Beach, Boardwalk, and Port Orleans. You can't go wrong with any of those. |

I have to reemphasize the Port Orleans if you are going to go with a moderate. French Quarter is our favorite, but we also liked Riverside. _________________ Up or Down North, South, East, or West An Adventurer's Life is Best! |

Well actually if you go way back in the threads there was a survey I started when I first joined here about ride choice. I ended up designing a semi-interactive and dark ride for a disney competition, to which I placed as 1 of 6 finalists. Im currently building my portfolio and what not and will eventually have it all online and will, of course, supply every one with a link |

We stayed at Port Orleans/Riverside several times and it is very nice.
Walk around the French Quarter side and it look just as nice as the Riverside
section. But have never stayed in the rooms at FQ. |

We have stayed at the Wilderness Lodge the last three times that we have been there. We LOVE it, the boat ride to the MK is great and there is a little beach where you can watch the Electrical Water Pageant and if you get a room that faces the MK that is on the fourth floor or higher you can watch fireworks from your balcony. The pool is great and Artist Point is great. Try the buffalo steak! The grounds are beautiful with geysers and bubbling springs. |

I was wondering when you were going to chime in!
I don't discount Coronado Springs, but we've never stayed there (yet!). _________________ When you're curious, you find lots of interesting things to do.
