New WDW Resort: Art of Animation Resort

Disney has officially announced the building of a new resort for WDW, this one will be themed around four of the more popular animated features. Well, they are not really "building" a new resort, they are "finishing" a resort.

Everyone knows that when Pop Century was built, a second complex was started but never finished (because of the 9/11 and the drop in attendance). Disney is going to repourpose "The Golden Years" for this new resort.

This is building on the success of the PotC themed rooms at the Caribbean Beach resort and the really popular family suites that were installed at the All-Star resorts.

I'm glad they are finishing it up as it's such an eyesore, and they might as well use what's already in place. I just wish they were building a new resort at which I'd consider staying. I don't stay at places with exterior corridors.

They did a great job on the Pirate rooms at Carribean beach it should
be interesting to see what they come up with.

Glad to see them using the space. From videos I have seen, things were starting to get beat up from being abandoned. More suites and other options sound like a good idea.

I am glad it is getting used, and family suites a great idea, but part of me will wish they had finished the Golden Years. But, if they wait long enough, what they have will become the golden years, so I guess that balances out.

It was looking pretty poor sitting there unused like that.

And Cars? my son will be thrilled.
